Acne can affect everyone, though it may be prevalent in younger years, some people may still develop them over the older years. There are many types of acne to begin with here are some:
- Papules – usually small and pink bumps
- Pustules/pimples – white to yellow pus-filled bumps
- Nodules – large, painful solid lesions
- Cyst – deep and extremely painful pus-filled bumps.
There are many treatments possible for acne depending on the outbreak. Yourdoctor would be able to determine which treatment is best for your condition. Treatments range from your simple facial and medication, to laser and injection treatments. For severe cases, some women are even given hormonal pills to mitigate acne growing. Soaps, creams and lotions as well as medicines that are ingested are also prescribed to heal the wounds caused by acne and/or prevent them from growing further.
It is best to consult your doctor rather than taking matters into your own hands. Also, if you do not want reminders of your acne – such as scars, it is best not to pop it or touch it all the time. Yes, yes, we all know that it is difficult to do so, but if you’re the type of person who gets acne a lot, better to train and stop yourself from scratching and constantly touching it.
